For hundreds of years, sailors on wood-splintered ships would hoist their three-ton anchors so they could leave the safety of a harbor & set sail. The crew would each grab a section of the rope connected to that massive slab of metal & work together to pull it off the ocean floor. A two-word cadence directed them, aligning their efforts & inspiring them with the power of unison – a heave ho! cry to accomplish that which they couldn’t do alone. This is the heart of Heave Ho! Creative. We are faithfully bound by our crew’s dedication to leading our clients across creative seas.
We provide that extra oomph to push the boundaries of design & thinking by pulling together. With over 50 collective years in creative & marketing services, we still love doing what we get to do. David Ewing, Owner
David is our founder & principal creative. He has been building Heave Ho! for almost 25 years through freelance, contract & in-house experiences. He's led clients & companies in CPG, Health & Wellness, Nonprofit & Restaurant industries. He has the design chops, wisdom & confidence to create differentiated work. His marketing filter makes him special as he delivers a functional aesthetic – handsome design meant to move the needle. David is a devout student to systems & processes that can bring our clients to fulfillment not yet imagined – & their win is our win.
David is a true waterman & enjoys quality time in/on the sea with his family & friends. He chronicles life through an iPhone & has a huge heart for helping others.
JoAnna Trampel, Head of Projects
As our leader of marketing & projects, Annie is a perfect mix of warm personality & cool-headed professionalism. She owns over 20 years in marketing strategy & project management. She deploys tactics gained from Tech, Nonprofit, Entertainment, Health & Wellness, Construction & Beauty sectors. Her record of building relationships, intentionality & respecting the bottom line speaks to her desire to see our clients crush. Annie has managed agencies & freelancers while also providing service as the 3rd party. This gives her unique insights that our clients find invaluable.
Annie’s creativity trickles into baking, & interior/landscape design, as she & her husband restore a 100-year-old craftsman.
Kiera Miller, Sr. Creative
Kiera is a well-rounded designer with over six years of experience in a variety of industries from Nonprofit & Photography to Education & Events. Her approach to design is highly intelligent with a focus on details without neglecting the bigger picture. Her enthusiasm & drive to exceed expectations set her apart while bringing immense value to our clients. Her passion lies in print & digital marketing materials. Kiera speaks Printer fluently, after years of working side-by-side. She can help get your projects over the line while avoiding costly timeline & financial pitfalls that tend to plague decision-makers.
Kiera expresses creativity outside of work through weekly pottery classes. She's also passionate about her volunteer work.
Mackenzie Peters, Creative
Mackenzie has four years of design experience in the Nonprofit & Construction industries. She is a young & hungry talent. Not only is she highly proficient in all things graphic design, but also in fine art as it applies to custom identities, invitations & iconography. She is passionate about company branding, layouts, marketing & advertising materials & unique event assets. Mackenzie has spent the bulk of her career as a freelancer with a focus on marketing initiatives, including social, but has also logged time on an in-house team which helps her to better understand our client’s needs.
Mackenzie loves to use her talents to serve others. She enjoys iPhone photography, traveling & exploring new coffee shops.
Alyssa Hall, Creative
Alyssa is a student designer with an eye for design. She enjoys creating uplifting, purposeful, and engaging design solutions. Her recent projects and experience include logo design, advertising campaigns, branding, event promotion, illustration, photo editing, and photography. Collaborating with other creative individuals inspires and motivates her as she continues to immerse herself in the world of design.
Alyssa’s creativity pours into other artistic hobbies which include dance, interior design, crafting, and baking. She loves spending time with her family and friends by going on trips and exploring nearby eateries.
